The Queen Elizabeth Driveway will be closed to traffic between Somerset Avenue and Fifth Avenue from9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily starting Saturday, the National Capital Commission has announced.
This repeats a popular pilot project initiated last spring, when the Driveway was limited to individuals seeking outdoor exercise between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Queen Elizabeth Driveway to close daily, while Rideau Canal Skateway will open next week Back to video
The project will continue until further notice, but could be temporarily interrupted because of City of Ottawa snow removal operations, the NCC said.
The NCC also expects to open the Rideau Canal Skateway next week and is working to open the entire length of nearly eight kilometres.
Skaters are being asked to wear masks, to stay at least two metres apart from those outside their households, to wash their hands and to use on-site hand sanitizer and respect capacity limits posted in washrooms.
Food and beverage concession stands, changing facilities, skate rentals, fire pits and picnic tables will be closed. Sanitization stations will be installed inside washroom facilities. Bi-directional staircases will be available where possible. The NCC is asking people to yield to oncoming traffic on single staircases.
