A 24-year-old Ottawa man faces numerous charges in connection with a south-end collision in September that claimed the life of a 35-year-old man and caused serious injuries to three other people.
The Ottawa police collision investigations unit laid the charges on Thursday in relation to a high-speed crash between two vehicles at 9:35 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 on Hawthorne Road between Leitrim and Louiseize roads.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene and three men and a woman were transported to hospital with serious injuries. At the time, a duty officer said at least one individual had been ejected from a vehicle.
Collision investigators later said they were seeking witness and dash-cam video of the crash.
On Thursday, police said three people suffered serious injuries that night — a 20-year-old man, a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman.
The accused man faces charges of impaired operation of a conveyance causing death; three counts of impaired operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm; dangerous driving causing death; three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm; careless driving causing death and three counts of careless driving causing bodily harm.
He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
