Ottawa police have requested public assistance in locating an 86-year-old man who was listed as missing on Wednesday evening.
Chakib Naoufal was last seen Wednesday around 4 p.m. on foot near the intersection of Bank Street and Heron Road in south-central Ottawa. “There are evidently concerns for his wellbeing,” the Ottawa Police Service said in a media release just after 8 p.m.

He was described as a Lebanese male standing five feet four inches (165 centimetres) tall with a medium build and brown eyes. He was also described as balding on top with a bit of hair in the back, and police said he spoke English with an accent.
When last seen, Naoufal was wearing light grey pants, a grey winter jacket, grey hat and grey/black boots.
Anyone with information on his current whereabouts was asked to call the Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-1222. Those with information that could assist investigators, but not his whereabouts, should contact the Missing Persons Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2355, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.
