Police seized a loaded .40 calibre Sig Sauer when they searched a home on Gatestone Private after a firearm was discharged in the area late Sunday.
The bullet damaged another home in the same block just south of Montreal Road, the Ottawa Police Service said in a media release issued Wednesday.

A “large,” but unspecified amount of cash and cellphones were also seized as east end detectives executed the search warrant.
A 27-year-old Ottawa man faces nine charges laid after an investigation by the guns and gangs unit. They include obstructing or resisting a peace officer, failing to comply with a release order and a string of firearms charges, including unlicensed possession, possession while prohibited and discharging a firearm into a place reckless to others.
The man was scheduled to appear at a bail hearing Wednesday.
