Ottawa Fire Services received multiple 911 calls just after 11 p.m. Friday, reporting a house was on fire on Nordmann Fir Court near Cranesbill Road in Stittsville.
While on the way to fire, crews were able to see the fire in the distance and a working fire was declared.

Upon arrival firefighters confirmed a two-storey single family home was fully engulfed and declared a second alarm.
Homes on either side of the fire unit were evacuated as a precaution. Crews attempted to enter the house through the basement, but heavy smoke conditions forced them out.
Firefighters were able to save family’s pet cat and happily reunited it with the residents.
One patient was in the care of the Ottawa Paramedic Service, their condition is unknown at this time.
The fire was declared under control at 12:50.
An Ottawa Fire Investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.
